Who we are

Littlenamer (“we”, “us”) is a free baby name website operated from Australia. Contact details are on our Contact page.

No accounts, no sign-up

You can use every tool on this site without creating an account or giving us your name or email address.

Information stored on your device (localStorage)

When you save names to your shortlist, the list is stored in your own web browser using a feature called localStorage. This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us and we cannot see it. You can remove it at any time by using the Clear shortlist button on the generator page or by clearing your browser’s site data.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web host may record standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of the visit) for security and to keep the site running. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not use this information to identify you personally.

Advertising and cookies

We may show advertising in future, for example through Google AdSense, to help cover the cost of running the site. If we do:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or learn about other opt-out choices at www.aboutads.info.
  • Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for adults who are expecting or planning a baby. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to external sources, such as official government data. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

Your rights

Australian visitors have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and visitors from other countries may have rights under their local laws. Because we do not collect personal information through accounts or forms, there is usually nothing for us to access or delete, but you are welcome to contact us with any questions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if we start showing ads. The date at the top of the page will show when it was last changed.
